Licenses and registrations¶
What does the “License level” field mean when creating a tournament?
This field sets the minimum license level a player must hold in order to register for the tournament.
There are three levels, from the most open to the most restrictive:

A player can register as soon as their license level is greater than or equal to the tournament's. A National license therefore grants access to every competition; a Fun license only opens Fun-level tournaments.
Organizers are not blocked by this check
The check applies to players registering themselves. As an organizer, you can manually register a player whose license is insufficient for the tournament level.
How do I license foreign players coming for a single tournament?
Two situations must be distinguished.
The player has never held a license. When their account is created, a free license is granted automatically for the duration set by the region (6 months). No further action is required.
The player has already used that free license. The free first license is granted only once, even if the previous one expired long ago. A player who already attended a previous edition will therefore no longer be offered a free license.
For that player, an administrator can create an Event license, whose validity period matches the dates of the selected tournament. It coexists with the player's license history.
Running a tournament¶
My event includes several competitions at different levels. How should I set it up?
The license level is set per tournament, not per draw and not per category. An event bringing together competitions of different levels therefore allows two approaches.
One tournament per competition. Each competition gets its own license level: National for the closed championship, Fun for the fun category. MySquash filters registrations automatically, and each player only sees the competitions their license grants access to.
A single tournament at the lowest level. The whole event fits into one tournament, which simplifies preparation and groups the registrations together. In return, the eligibility check applies to the level chosen: a Fun-level tournament remains open to players without a National license, including for the national competition. Checking licenses then falls to the organizer.
